Key Questions for Victims of TIP

Should you encounter a person who may be a victim of human trafficking, there are key questions you can ask that may help you to properly identify that person as a victim and can help you build a criminal investigation.

It’s important for you as law enforcement officers to really look beneath the surface of those you encounter at crime scenes. The next prostitute, stripper, runaway youth or illegal immigrant you encounter may actually be a victim of human trafficking, in desperate need of your help.

Asking these questions can help you make the distinction between victim and criminal.
